Abstract

  • In February 2017 in Denpasar an inflation of 0.42 percent in the Consumer Price Index (CPI) amounted to 125.33. The inflation rate of calendar year by 1.81 percent. The inflation rate year on year (YoY) at 4.22 percent.
  • Inflation occurs because of the increase in the price indicated by the rise in the index on the six types of expenses, foodstuff by 1.46 percent; housing; water, electricity, and gas by 0.25 percent; education, recreation and sports by 0.17 percent; food, beverages, cigarettes and tobacco 0.15 percent; transport, communications, and financial services by 0.14 percent; as well as the health group by 0,09 percent. While the clothing group decreasing index / deflation of 0.04 percent.
  • Of inflation in January 2017 amounted to 0.42 per cent, the share of core component / core to inflation of 0.12 percent, component prices regulated by the government / administrative contributed inflation of 0,002 percent; as well as the volatile component / volatile contributed to inflation by 0.30 percent.
  • Commodities that contributed / contribution price inflation in January 2017 include: chili, red chili, tuna / ambu-ambu, pulse rate phone, and electricity rates. Commodity prices decline during the month of February 2017 include: air freight rate, mustard greens, onions, fish dungarees, and soap.
  • Of the 82 cities recorded 62 cities experienced inflation and 20 cities experienced deflation. The highest inflation was in Manado by 1.16 percent and the lowest at 0.03 percent Ternate. The highest deflation occurred in Jambi amounted to 1.40 percent and the lowest in Bungo deflation of 0.02 percent. The rank of the highest inflation, then the Denpasar ranks 25th out of 62 cities that experienced inflation.
