The number of departures for international air transport in December 2019 was recorded to be as high as 4.74 percent compared to November 2019 (m-t-m). However, the number of passengers of international air transport in December 2019 was recorded to decrease as deep as -0.78 percent compared to November 2019 (m-t-m).
Cumulatively from January to December 2019, the number of international air transportation departures was 36,729 units, up 0.56 percent compared to 2018 which was recorded at 36,525 units. The number of international air passenger departures also increased as high as 8.28 percent, from 6,408,282 people in 2018 to 6,938,836 people in 2019. During 2019, international air passenger departures to Australia continued to dominate with the number of air transport passengers as many as 1,598,154 people.
The number of departure of domestic air transportation in December 2019 was recorded to increase 5.25 percent compared to November 2019 (mtm), and followed by an increase in the number of passengers in December 2019 as high as 3.52 percent when compared to the number of passengers in November 2019 (mtm) .
Cumulatively from January to December 2019, the number of departures of domestic air transportation was recorded at 40,790 units, decreasing as deep as -8.55 percent compared to 2018 which was recorded at 44,800 units. This condition was also followed by a decrease in the number of departure of domestic air transport passengers as deep as -11.16 percent, from 5,579,368 people in 2018 to 4,956,464 people in 2019.[100-20200203]
