Abstract

In September 2020, the level of expenditure inequality of the Indonesian population as measured by the Gini Ratio was 0.385. This figure is an increase of 0.004 points when compared to the March 2020 Gini Ratio of 0.381 and an increase of 0.005 points compared to the September 2019 Gini Ratio of 0.380.

The urban Gini Ratio in September 2020 was recorded at 0.399, an increase compared to the Gini Ratio in March 2020 which was 0.393 and the Gini Ratio in September 2019 which was 0.391.

The rural Gini Ratio in September 2020 was recorded at 0.319, an increase compared to the March 2020 Gini Ratio of 0.317 and the September 2019 Gini Ratio of 0.315.

Based on the measure of the inequality of the World Bank, the distribution of expenditure in the bottom 40 percent is 17.93 percent. This means that population expenditure in September 2020 is in the low level of inequality category. If broken down by region, in urban areas the figure is 17.08 percent, which means it belongs to the low inequality category. Meanwhile, for rural areas, the figure was recorded at 20.89 percent, which means it belongs to the low inequality category. [110-20210215]
