The agricultural sector provides a significant contribution to the national economy. It can be seen from the structure of Indonesia's GDP in the third quarter 2016, which is still dominated by three (3) main business field, namely: Manufacturing (19.90 percent); Agriculture, Forestry, and Fisheries (14.42 percent); Retail Trade and Repair of the car- Motorcycles (12.98 percent).

In terms of employment, according to the results Sakernas (February 2016), employment is agriculture, horticulture, forestry, hunting, and fishing can create jobs as much as 38.29 million people or approximately 31.74% of the total population aged 15 years on the work.

Development in the agricultural sector in addition to aim to increase production also to improve the welfare of farm households. Subsector in the agricultural sector, which plays an important role in meeting the needs of society are food and protein food crops and livestock.

It required the data to describe the structure of business expenses, household profiles, and socio-economic conditions of household food crops and livestock enterprises. In order to meet the needs of the data is carried out surveys Business Cost Structure Food Crops and Livestock 2017 (SOUT2017).

Expected later SOUT2017 results of data collection Gianyar BPS will give an overview of the cost structure of the business, household profiles, and socio-economic conditions of household food crops and livestock enterprises are actually so as to contribute to the government's policy in the future
