In 2017, for the second time, the Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) conducts the Happiness Measurement Survey (SPTK) 2017. The SPTK 2017 activity is somewhat different from other BPS surveys, as this survey not only describes the condition of material prosperity but rather the living conditions that lead to Meaning of life, happiness that is objective. Respondents' subjective ratings are closely related to psychological elements that need to be explored in depth by considering the condition, situation, and context experienced by the respondents.

 In general, SPTK2017 aims to obtain detailed information on the level of happiness as measured by the various objective and subjective variables that are relevant. Meanwhile, the specific objective is to calculate the Happiness Index 2017 and to calculate the 2017 Social Capital Indicators. The implementation of SPTK 2017 includes 75,000 sample households spread across 487 districts / cities in 34 provinces throughout Indonesia. Data generated from these activities can only be presented at the national level up to the provincial level.

Phase of SPTK 2017 implementation in Gianyar Regency BPS starting from field worker training, household sampling, sample household enumeration, supervision and inspection of enumeration result, until data processing is conducted from 1 April 2017 until 5 May 2017. The enumerator and supervisor officer is from organic BPS and 12 statistical partners. The number of SPTK 2017 sample households in Gianyar Regency is 160 households spread in 16 Census Block (BS) in Gianyar Regency.
It is expected that the results of this survey will be able to measure the level of happiness that will be served up to Bali Province level
